I found your blog after a Hotel Sterling search. It is awful that the building will be demolished. I am glad that there are fellow Wilkes-Barrians now in Brooklyn. Love your blog. – K.E.

Well you know, things change. I’ve been back to Wilkes-Barre a lot and the downtown section is VERY different. I think it’s good that they’re renovating everything, and maybe the high school kids won’t have to explore abandoned buildings and drive into the woods because there’s nothing else going on. Who knows?

Do we know each other? Seems like there’s a small number of Wilkes-Barre/Brooklyn people around. Also, I have some homemade Hotel Sterling shirts I made (which you probably saw on the blog) if you want something to remember it by.

I agree. I left just over a year ago and so much has changed already.

I am not sure, but I am sure we have mutual acquaintances knowing Wilkes-Barre. Yes, I saw the shirts–that would be neat. How much? Oh, by the way, congratulations about getting into school.

That would be neat, thank you. Here is my email address: kacymuir@gmail.com.

I enjoyed your writings on the Hotel Sterling in Wilkes-Barre. I used to live in the tower (5th and 6th floors) while a student at Wilkes College in the late 70s. Your Sterling T-shirt is quite nice also. While they now plan to tear down the rest of the hotel, why not “like” this facebook page from those who want to save her (but know they cant!)?

Ooops! Forgot the link. That what happens when you’re 52! LOL! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-the-Hotel-Sterling-Wilkes-Barre-PA/147946351934833

This is great! I actually just gave all of my T-shirt designs to my friend Joe, with the intention to sell them at the Crimson Lion Hookah Lounge on South St. I’m willing to make more if there is a group of people fighting for the (hopeless) cause!
